So after waiting (not so patiently) since Friday afternoon, the arena had settled enough that I was allowed to ride on it. Mack drew the honour of being first horse on it.
The verdict: excellent. It rode really nicely. It is definitely firmer rather than softer, but not too hard. The sand provided a nice steady footing and Mack seemed more than happy on it. The only criticism I have is that it is very bright and glary, but the other sands we looked at we either too dusty, to shifty, too soft or too coarse. All in all, a very successful exercise I think!
And then it was Odie's turn.
