Last week we had some contractors in to cut our grass for baleage. We had (unintentionally) two paddocks and our front lawn locked up for most of the winter and we decided that instead of letting it go to waste or feeding it to the already fat horses, we'd see if it was worth cutting for baleage (wrapped fermented hay). It was definitely worth it as we managed to get in excess of 100 bales. The final count is not in yet as we haven't finished picking it up yet so watch this space...
