We have power
The electricians came back and finished off the last of the electrical work today. Of course I went out and tried out all the light switches, fired up the gas hob (shhh don't tell the building inspector) and turned the taps on for good measure. Code of compliance is booked for tomorrow. We already know we won't get it as the tiled splash-back hasn't been installed. That will be Chris' job for this coming weekend.
