Today was an exciting day - the building consent for the cottage was finally lodged. Helen from Alena Homes said we can now relax, everything is in their hands and we can sit back and enjoy the ride. She spoke to a friendly building inspector at the council who hinted that he would 'fast track' it, so hopefully consent will be granted sooner than the standard 20 working days.
For those avid blog readers that haven't seen the plans yet, I can now unveil the grand masterpiece that is our cottage: Cottage Plans.
We are going to meet with the builders next week to choose colours, taps, windows, fittings, finials and scroll work, and all those sorts of exciting things.
